moon-and-sky1

A sinister cosmic force wanted to end our species. 5000 years ago Asteroid 376GH was gently nudged toward planet Earth’s orbit.

A slow death.

We would know it.

We could see it coming.

If only 376GH had the courtesy to hit directly and not at an angle we would have had a chance.

Angular touchdown in the Siberian Tundra gave us all a week of pause to enjoy the Sun one last time.

The Sun.

In its last moments looking like a full moon peeking through a cloudy night sky we were suffocating.

Appreciate the gift 376GH gave to you.

The best and coldest spectacle comes into town once a year.

The event is called the Snow Circus.

Lions, bears and tigers all on parade gliding gracefully with their handlers.

Slick frozen surfaces sparkling under massive spotlights cause big crowds to pour in from the surrounding countryside to see a show.

The Summertime Snow Vendor; he hatched a plan this year to steal their winter secrets for his own.

Year after year he shovels snow from the surface to store deep in his freezing cave.

He grows tired, now, of the cold, of the dark. Off to the show tonight.

Jacques stared defeated at his dropped steaming kielbasa. There it lay, gathering gravel and dirt.

“I’ll kill you Maurice.”

A jar of mustard thrown shattered on the ground staining the meat an off yellow.

“My Dijon will live forever Auguste!” A second jar of mustard thrown broke upon the cobblestone in the same place.

Jacques stood transfixed, ignorant of the surrounding chaos.

Crowds stomped the pavement in pursuit of one another.

Jacques lifted the dripping link with his fingers. He hesitated only a moment before taking a bite.

A smile emerged through lips dripping with mustard.

Grey Poupon was born.

“When am I?” wondered Jen. “Late 1800s maybe?”

Jen was a member of a band called “Killer Chains” and was known as “Blue Chains.”

But she was also an undercover time traveler which traveled around the world in her house on wheels named “Veronica.”

One day she decided to randomly press a button without looking and stay there for a few hours.

After she pressed the button she swirled through a vortex of colors and old items.

After that she arrived in an old timey place and started driving Veronica around the area surprising every single person that she passed.

My 10 year old step daughter Sarah is back this week with an undercover time traveler. She was inspired by the photo below and one of her most recent Lego creations “Veronica.” Which is apparently a motorhome that enables time travel. – Danny

If you are killed instantly you think of nothing before the fact.

When you have time to reflect however, what are you supposed to think about?

I am about to die. It’s okay, don’t freak out. I’m not. I thought I would.

It’s a long story but a large fireball is going to incinerate my body at any moment.

I’m finding the longer my impending doom drags on the more I am concerned with what I should be thinking.

Quickly now. Family, friends and my life. Done. Thought about and appreciated.

Getting pretty damn warm in this tunnel. Now what?
