I officially certify that Danny's performance in the 2nd Quarter 2009 BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP was 100% BOMBlastic! If you check out the www.bubblegumheaven.com website you'll also notice that Danny's bubble was judged to be the 9th biggest bubble ever blown in a (non-GWR) competition! I also agree, having created The BWC along with Guinness World Record Holders Susan Montgomery Williams (largest bubblegum bubble blown) and Joyce Samuels (largest bubblegum bubble blown from the nose) with Danny's assessment of the process of breaking this record. It's not just that you need to have the talent necessary to be the best. And it's also not just that you need to make the performance of your life when the chips are down and the pressure to perform is unbelieveably intense, knowing that you may never get the chance again especially if you choke. But it's also that there are all kinds of hurdles you must get over just to have the opportunity. It's also possible, depending on the route you take, that it could cost a good amount of money just to make the attempt. That's where the BWC comes in. It's easy to enter and it's free. If you don't make your best performance today, you can always try again tomorrow. And if you don't win, you can come back in three months and try again. And hey. Because rules differ from those of Guinness, if you win the contest chances are you'll be able to tell the world your bubble is bigger than the Guinness World Record for largest bubblegum bubble. It won't get you in their book (nor should it because it wasn't blown by their rules), but it will most likely be true, and it will make you the World Champion of bubblegum bubble blowing! The problem is that it is a pain in the ass to coordinate it. So the BWG was made so everyone around the world could compete for the championship title. I'm a neophyte compared to the talent of some of these guys. I just got lucky I think. But it is pretty fun, makes you feel like a kid again really.
